What is it?

Some diets, like time-restricted eating (TRE), don't require a specific balance of macronutrients. But others, like the ketogenic diet, involve careful adherence to a macronutrient ratio of carbohydrate, fat and protein intake.Macrobalancer exists to make it easier to plan your meals to meet a desired ratio of macronutrients and calorie intake, using numerical optimisation methods to suggest an amount of each food that meets your dietary needs.We don't take a stance on which diets anybody should choose -- instead, everyone should do some research and if possible talk to their doctor before making serious changes. This is a tool that puts you in control.

How does it work?

  • You start by building a list of your favourite foods.

  • Then, select your desired dietary goals: total calories and ratios of carb, fat and protein intake.

  • Adjust the minimum and maximum allowed amount of each food to suit your preferences, and the optimiser will try to find a plan that satisfies your goals.
